late 19th Century Indigo Plaid Panel $40

40.00

This late 19th century Japanese plaid fabric employs threads dyed a deep indigo. This textile was woven using a handloom and hand spun cotton threads. The fabric is in great shape and it has a beautiful texture and weight due to the hand spun threads. The deep indigo color tells us that the threads were probably submerged in the dye vat as many as ten times to achieve this deep blue hue. This fabric is strong enough for pillows or other sewing or boro projects. It would also be beautiful used as a table runner or even framed. 32 x 13 inches with one small hole.
